How much is delivery?
We keep all our delivery rates nice and simple - £2.99 for any order up to 2kg, and £3.99 for all orders over 2kg in weight. The rate will be calculated and added at checkout.
When can I expect my order to arrive?
We aim to dispatch all orders within 24 hours of receiving payment. During busier periods the dispatch time could be slightly longer. You should expect delivery within 4 days.
What kind of packaging do you use?
This depends on the quantities purchased. Any item weighing less than 500g is delivered in compostable packaging. These bags are made from cellulose based bio-film from renewable resources (wood-pulp from managed plantations) which is certified to the European standard (EN13432) for industrially compostable packaging.
When placed in industrial composting conditions the bags will completely disintegrate into carbon dioxide (CO2), water and biomass within 10-12 weeks, leaving no harmful residue behind. The composting process will take longer in home composting conditions and will depend on factors such as location and composting conditions.
Our packaging complies with the European compostable standard EN13432.
To comply with this standard, all packaging must meet the following key requirements:
- Biodegradation - At least 90% of materials must break down by biological action (into CO2, water and minerals) within six months
- Disintegration - The packaging must decompose into tiny pieces so that, after 12 weeks, at least 90% of it can pass through a 2x2mm mesh
- Chemical composition - The packaging must meet limits for volatile matter, flourine and 10 heavy metals, including copper, zinc, lead and mercury
- Compost quality - Adding the packaging to compost should not affect the quality of that compost. Ecotoxicity tests examine whether the germination and biomass production of plants are adversely affected by the introduction of the composted packaging
Any items over 500g are packed in robust plastic bags which are resealable, re-usable and recyclable. We encourage you to reuse these bags as many times as possible and have found them to be the best option for maintaining the freshness of the products we sell combined with the sturdiness required during transit.
